POKOTABI / BAR Honoka
BAR穂の香
Nerima's BAR Honoka offers side-by-side tastings of vintage bottles from the 1970s and 80s against current releases, alongside seasonal fresh fruit cocktails.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Even with familiar whisky labels, setting a contemporary pour beside a bottle released decades ago reveals striking differences in aroma and maturity. Located on the 2rd floor of the Gold 19 Building in Nerima, BAR Honoka offers comparative tastings that pit vintage bottles from the 1970s and 1980s against their present-day iterations, inviting guests to explore how time has shaped the same brand. Delving into the depth of historic blended whiskies and rare bottlings appeals to seasoned connoisseurs as much as to curious drinkers eager to consult the bartender on discovering new profiles.
Beyond whisky, the menu highlights seasonal cocktails crafted with fresh fruit. These drinks capture raw fruit aromatics and can also be prepared non-alcoholic depending on your mood, making the bar accessible regardless of how much alcohol you wish to drink. Alongside your glass, you can order light fare such as pizzas with prosciutto, seafood, or anchovy olives, as well as garlic toast, an assorted sausage platter, and chocolates.
The interior has a tranquil atmosphere, suited equally to solo evenings and visits with company. Operating hours run from 19:00 to 2:00 the following morning, with last entry at 1:30. Closed on Mondays, the bar provides a reliable sanctuary for an unhurried pour late into the night at the end of a day in Nerima.
